School Program

Welcome to Restorative Schools, a service that supports schools in training staff and educating children on the issues of violence using restorative practices.

We believe that violence is not only a physical act, but also a relational and emotional one. Violence can occur in many forms, such as bullying, harassment, discrimination, abuse, or neglect. Violence can harm not only the victims and perpetrators, but also the witnesses and the whole school community.

That’s why we offer restorative practices, an alternative approach to dealing with violence that focuses on repairing the harm, restoring the relationships, and preventing the recurrence. Restorative practices are based on the principles of respect, empathy, accountability, and dialogue. Restorative practices can help schools to:

– Create a positive and inclusive school culture
– Promote social and emotional learning and wellbeing
– Reduce conflict and discipline problems
– Enhance academic performance and engagement
– Foster collaboration and cooperation among staff, students, and families

Our service provides the following:

– Training for school staff on how to implement restorative practices in their classrooms, teams, and school-wide systems
– Education for children on how to understand and address the issues of violence in their lives and in the society
– Consultation and coaching for school leaders on how to develop and sustain a restorative school vision and policy
– Resources and tools for school staff and children on how to use restorative practices in various situations and scenarios
– Evaluation and feedback for school staff and children on how to measure and improve the impact and outcomes of restorative practices

If you are interested in our service, please contact us and we will be happy to discuss your needs and goals. We look forward to working with you and your school to create a more peaceful and productive learning environment.
